CFMX 7 Developer Certification, Part II

by marcus on 28/07/2005

The operator "AND" returns true if both expressions are true.
So, to prove that our BIB-Headline, which says that kk AND mr are two advanced certified CF developers, is true, I also needed to take the CFMX Developer Test again (and besides, I had to pass it to keep my CF-Instructor title).

Well, I reached 88% (advanced), mainly because I simply did not remember the syntax of... err... no, I'm not allowed to tell you. ;)

CFMX 7 Developer Certification

by kai on 26/07/2005

Jippie, just passed the CFMX 7 Developer Certification with 92%. This means I passed on the Advanced level again.

While preparing, I wondered how the new exam with all the new CF7 stuff would be like. Well, too bad one is not to talk about the content and the questions after doing the exam, but let's say from my point of view the exam became more "appropriate" to what I expect from a test like this one, whatever that might mean ;-)

Optimus Keyboard

by marcus on 18/07/2005

Now, if THAT's not a keyboard...
Each key of the Optimus Keyboard contains an independent TFT-Display instead of a classic sticker ;-)

Apart from the fact that it it looks cool and can impress your neighbour(s), it might become your perfect buddy when being forced to edit multilanguage content in a CMS...

If you attended my last presentation on CF performance, you'll notice that I have some new topics - well, not too many, because hints that were good yesterday are mostly still correct today.

Hopefully, there will be no server crash like last time ;)

See you at 4 o'clock...

UPDATE:
If you missed the talk, here's the URL of the recorded version:

ZIP- and data type converter CFC

by kai on 05/07/2005

Arthur Kordowski put two new CFCs online. The first one is an abstracted zip-API which is basically leveraging Java's zip functionality for CF.

The other one is about data type conversion and allows you to transfer CF data types without flaws.

Both are available on Arthur's site ("My tools" in the right-hand menu) and are very well documented etc. Have a look, it's worth it!

CFUNITED last day, over and out

by kai on 01/07/2005

CFUNITED 2005 is over. I spent this last day in a very good session on FarCry, presented by Steve Rittler and the already mentioned sessions on Event Gateways. Now I'm sitting in the wrap-up session and the conference is nearly finished. I took the chance to speak with a bunch of people today and even managed to solve a support issue of one of my customers by having an immediate support session…

A quick impression of MX Kollektion 3

by kai on 01/07/2005

As most of you might know: I don't like Dreamweaver. Well, this is the polite version ;) Honestly, I don't think Dreamweaver is a good coding tool - which is the reason why I'm still on Homesite+ and prefer CFEclipse more and more. MX Kollection 3 is a pack of extensions for Dreamweaver and was just recently published by Interakt, who also developed the CFMX 7 Dreamweaver extensions shipped with…
