Adobe: A new press and marketing agency in Europe

by kai on 08/01/2006

After the merger of Adobe and Macromedia, the new Adobe Central Europe seems to have sent the pink slip to Macromedia Central Europe's press and communication/marketing agency Conosco. That's pretty sad as Conosco did an extremely good job jointly with Stefan Prestele from Macromedia Central Europe. Just the other day I've received the first two press releases via the new agency and - well I…

A new blog in town

by kai on 08/01/2006

There is another new blog in town. At ZeroOne, the company I'm with here in Wellington, we've started a team blog. It's called "the word" due to all the people inquiring about the way our domain-name is spelled (ZeroOne - as the word...)

It will be a blog with eight authors and I'm going to contribute some stuff as well. Nothing else changes, you're still going to get my brain dumps as AgentK over here - if you like or not ;)

Adobe and Macromedia: stop the panic!

by kai on 18/04/2005

A lot of people blogged about that one already. Adobe is going to take over Macromedia later this year. Bascially: so what? There has to be a consolidation in the tools business, be honest, why not put together the best product of each company? Who really uses GoLive!, why not discontinue it due to the success of Dreamweaver. Same for the other tools. Regarding the server products, I can't…

New blog in town... richshoppingblog.de

by kai on 07/03/2005

There is an interesting new blog online if you're interested in the business and marketing aspects of online shopping. Two of my co-workers (Michael Quack and Michael Jung) blog on those topics with a strong focus on using Macromedia technologies: www.richshoppingblog.de

The drawback is: it's just available in German, so it might become difficult for the non-German folks. Maybe some sort of auto-translation like babelfish etc. might help...

MXDU: morning of Day 1

by kai on 17/02/2005

Woke way too late this morning. I wanted to be downstairs early to support Daemon with setting up all the things in the conference area, damn! So I arrived down there at 8:30 am and ran into Sean Corfield who I met yesterday already to say hello, but we didn't find time to chat. The keynote was opened by Geoff Bowers and handed over to Mark Blair (server manager of MM AsiaPac). He showed two…

MXDU: Day 0

by kai on 17/02/2005

Day 0 of MXDU 2005 is over and it was quite entertaining. I met Geoff Bowers in the early morning at Star City to help him setting up the room for Grant Skinners workshop on Action Script OO. Aber going to bed again for a while, Diane and I decided to stroll around the city and went to QVB to buy things ;) In the afternoon I urgently had to finish my talk on CF Scalability. Well, it quite final…

by kai on 16/02/2005

The guys from CFUG Swiss are going to have Ben Forta visit them on Thursday, Feb 18, 6:30pm to 10pm (GST +1). Topic is - obviously - Blackstone or the so called CFMX 7 (I personally prefer to call it Blackstone - always wondering why Macromedia don't keep their cool internal code names for the real products :-) The event is going to take place in the Marriott Zurich and is additionally going to…
