A Backpack’s life…

by kai on 11/08/2003

I’m going to write the following entry in English, because it should be something like a tribute to Daemon in Australia for all their contribution to the ColdFusion community.

Beside stuff like FarCry CMS, dozens of CF and Flash extensions etc. another incredible part of their business are backpacks! Really, I’m serious (at least sort of πŸ˜‰ ).

During my stay down under in February 2003 we had a great bbq night at Geoff Bowers house (to gain an impression look here in Jesse Wardens blog and follow the link in Geoffs comment πŸ˜‰ The party ended with a cool present for all the guys over there, we all got a great screaming-neon-yellow coloured backpack – and believe it or not – it’s the best backpack I ever had in my life: it’s robust, it seems to be self-rejecting dirt from the streets and other environmentals and it owns a special inside-bag for laptop computers.

I owned a lot of backpacks in my life since I went to school, and I also owned some quite expensive ones made by a company called something like “westback” πŸ˜‰ which promised to be cool laptop backpacks. But nothing I ever saw is as good as this piece.

Additionally, it’s a good companion for all type of travels. My one started in Sydney, went over to Singapore and visited some major cities in Germany. In Summer I took it to the Netherlands, Belgium and London. In autumn it will travel overseas to Salt Lake City and next February back to it’s origin: Australia πŸ˜‰ Anyone took it a longer way?

It’s a shame that I can’t provide some more pics, most time I’m the guy making pictures – so it’s hard to take a pic of myself wearing it πŸ˜‰

So – to come to an end: Daemon – go on like that and thx a lot for all you’re doing over there. What would it cost me to buy some more of the backpacks? πŸ˜‰
