Ben Forta just announced that the new release of his CF Certified Developer Study Guide book have been shipped. It should be a very good book and I can’t stress it often enough: even if you don’t intend to take the exam – get the book, it’s a great source of compact CF knowledge to look things up etc.
With the book Ben put a bunch of preparation questions online. There are 164 questions and you get them served in units of 30. I did some of the prep exams and scored quite good. Nevertheless, I should have a way closer look into the Event Gateways š
My impression of the prep questions: if the real exam is of the same level as the prep exams are, then I guess the exam became harder compared to CF MX Certified Developer. Another reason why I suppose it to be like that is that a bunch of people chatted about the exam on cfaussie and the general opinion was that it became harder.
Additionally, the passmarks changed. You’d need to have 70% (instead of 65%) to get certified and you’d need to have 85% (instead of 80%) to become Advanced Certified Developer. In my opinion a good move from Macromedia, the former exams had been too easy.
Too bad that I won’t be allowed to talk about it after I’ve taken the exam, which will be at some time in July. But I’ll let you know how I did š
I took the sample test and I realized that I don’t know that much about ColdFusion as I thought I did. 7 out 30 is real bad. I have a lot more studying to do, luckily I have CFMX 7 WACK book.
