I MIGHT be there…

I missed last year’s Soccer World Cup in Germany and I could bite my arse for doing so. But to be fair, it’s hard to get all this stuff done and organised when you’ve just moved to the other end of the world etc. But – this is not going to happen again – in 2008 the UEFA EURO 2008 is going to take place in Switzerland and Austria. Well, the world’s best soccer teams are from Europe anyways, so the fact that it’s “just” the European Championship is no reason not to go! πŸ˜‰

The first phase of buying and ordering tickets has just started yesterday, I’ll try hard to get some, believe me and I’ll keep you posted how it goes…

wot, you’re not sport-satisfied that N.Z (your adopted country) beat Australia in the Chappell-Hadley cup?

you’re a hard man to keep happy, Mr KΓΆnig…

Well, well – I’ve even been to the Wellington game with the awesome result of not loosing a wicket πŸ˜‰ I really enjoy cricket, but…

…seriously – how can I be sport-satisfied in a country full of rugby? I can’t see any justification for that game, I’ve even seen an Allblacks game, but it couldn’t convince me.

The domestic soccer in NZ (and even in Australia) can’t be a proper replacement. It’s nice to watch the odd game, but that’s pretty much it. I’m downloading the weekly German Bundesliga TV show of a German online TV recording system regularly – any more questions? πŸ˜‰

Ahem.. is biting the arse a German turn of phrase? It sounds loosely related to “I could kick myself…” — but heh, nothing got lost in translation πŸ˜‰
