New blog in town... richshoppingblog.de

by kai on 07/03/2005

There is an interesting new blog online if you're interested in the business and marketing aspects of online shopping. Two of my co-workers (Michael Quack and Michael Jung) blog on those topics with a strong focus on using Macromedia technologies: www.richshoppingblog.de

The drawback is: it's just available in German, so it might become difficult for the non-German folks. Maybe some sort of auto-translation like babelfish etc. might help...

MXDU: Finally...

by kai on 19/02/2005

We just arrived back from Daemons Speakers&Friends BBQ. It's 2:20 am, I'm bloody tired and we've got a plane to catch heading to Christchurch on 9:50 am. This said, this is going to become a short one ;) The annual BBQ was awesome, like always. This became one of the major MXDU events obviously as there seem to be a bunch of people (like ourselves) who planned their travel according to this BBQ…

MXDU: Day 2

by kai on 19/02/2005

Tonight ("Day 3") ;-) some people complained that I didn't end up with reporting on MXDU 2005. Yes, sorry, you could really blame me for that ;) The reason was that my free Wifi connection was switched off somehow and I was too lazy to set up the modem line etc. But anyhow. Day 2 started with another awesome superhero-themed movie done by Nectarine. Watch out for it to appear on the MXDU site…

MXDU: cfaussie gossip ;)

by kai on 18/02/2005

Just found on cfaussie: I'm at home on my sofa missing it all. I'll go in soon. Last night is a bit of a haze. Some bird from Microsoft put her company credit card behind the bar, and I decided that if Bill was paying, then i was drinking. So i started getting the double VRBs in. Stanton got 14 zambuccas for everyone there- and i ended up necking about 3 of them. The last thing i remember was…

by kai on 17/02/2005

Just today I noticed a very interesting article on Fusebox 4.1 and Mach II. It's published by Builder AU and available online on: http://www.builderau.com.au/program/0,39024614,39177784,00.htm.

MXDU: The conference bag ;)

by kai on 17/02/2005

And again: MXDUs conference bag is just awesome. Not just that there's great stuff in it like a thermo mug, Daemon sweets, a wonderful postcard done by Nectarine, a really cool Swiss army knife and much more. But: the bag itself is great again. I really wonder how the Aussies do that, seems that just Australian people are able to produce great, long-lasting and stable bags ;)

MXDU: Inaugral MXDU Banquet

by kai on 17/02/2005

This year the Daemon guys came up with the great idea of holding a banquet on the night of day 1 of MXDU. After a lot of people became confused about what to wear (at least this still IS a developers conference...), Geoff sent some basic rules: wear whatever you want but try to wear shoes ;) And - the reason for that was quite obvious. Before we got allowed to get drinks or food all participants…

MXDU: Day 1 afternoon

by kai on 17/02/2005

Wow, that conference is a blast! In the afternoon I visited a session on Rich Forms in Blackstone, presented by Tim Buntel. that one was very interesting as Tim not just talked about the Flash Forms of CFMX 7 but also on XML Form issues. After that Robin Hillard presented on a topic called "The Neighbourly Package: Beyond Component Reuse in CFMX". He spent a lot of time talking about very generic…

MXDU: morning of Day 1

by kai on 17/02/2005

Woke way too late this morning. I wanted to be downstairs early to support Daemon with setting up all the things in the conference area, damn! So I arrived down there at 8:30 am and ran into Sean Corfield who I met yesterday already to say hello, but we didn't find time to chat. The keynote was opened by Geoff Bowers and handed over to Mark Blair (server manager of MM AsiaPac). He showed two…
