Buzzword and Safari 3.1

by kai on 27/03/2008

Just went into Buzzword with Safari 3.1 for the first time. It’s officially an unsupported browser and therefore it now triggers the “unsupported browser” page whenever I’m accessing a document – arrgs… I have the feeling it’s not a technical issue as everything seems to work fine after I’ve clicked my way through, it’s probably more of a legal statement because Buzzword hasn’t been fully tested for Safari 3.1…

Hi, thanks for the post. Unfortunately there *are* some technical issues with Safari 3.1 and Buzzword. They don’t show up on first glance, but if you try to use control keys or the clipboard, you’ll run into trouble. We are working on updated support for Safari 3.1 and we’ll get it out as soon as humanly possible. Stay tuned!

Actually, it is a technical problem: Safari 3.1 broke a lot of keyboard handling code out there on the web, and this also effects the way buzzword handles keyboard accelerators. They are working on a fix.

Thanks for the clarification, guys! That’s interesting and explains why I didn’t come across anything so far – I don’t use the keyboard shortcuts and yesterday I didn’t use the clipboard when I was working on 2 documents.
