Just recently, I was appointed to be one of the Adobe Ambassadors for the Pacific region – namely Australia and New Zealand.
I hear you asking… “Well, what does it mean?” There’s a pretty easy and nice definition:
An Adobe Ambassador is a recognised industry professional whom Adobe has approached to represent them in the Pacific region.
They are an expert of the Adobe tools. They understand the workflow, industry direction and key drivers of their field.
It doesn’t really change anything in reagrds to what I’m doing anyway. I’ll be around, try to drive awareness, try to inspire communities, will attend and speak at conferences and (besides all that) continue to do my own work through my company Ventego Creative. You might see me and the other ambassadors more regularly presenting in Adobe’s eSeminar series though.
Obviously there are more Ambassadors besides me. We’ll try to cover geographical regions as well as various products for developers. I’ll focus on CF, Flex and AIR and obviously in New Zealand although I enjoy travelling – so watch this space.
I don’t want to “out” the others here, just to name a few I know who have made their appointment public so far: Dale Rankine for Flash Lite and mobile, Campbell Anderson for Flex, Flash and AIR and Kay Smoljak for ColdFusion.
Hey Kai,
congrats… and nice typo btw. “Abode ambassador” 😉
Cheers
